How long is implementation process?
The implementation period depends on several factors:
- Your organisation for implementation and the available infrastructure
- The chosen deployment scope (can be planned in steps)
- The deployment support planning of EUROCONTROL
The initial training (train the trainers) is ensured by the LARA team. It consist of an OPS and a TECH module planned to take one week each. Preparation before by the stakeholders ensures more efficiency of the training. Detailed information on both available LARA Software and Documentation can be retrieved directly from the on-line LARA General Library.
Do we need make the reservations for the trainings and support?
Yes, LARA training is provided by the LARA Team, that is constrained in terms of availability, as we have to not only stear LARA development and maintenance, but also support states in deploying the LARA system.
What suitable hardware is required? Are 2 servers mandatory, or the 2nd one is optional?

It is highly recommanded to have a 2nd server, at least for Postgresql replication. This ensures that in addition to (automated) backup procedures, a "live database" is replicating any transaction to the main database server. This can then be used for setting-up a "hot standby" LARA Server, and/or eventually to connect such "read-only" (by design) replicated database to a (httpd) web server, allowing "external" users to easily retrieve via a browser information about airspace planning.
Typically, such a 2nd server can also be used for hosting the LARA Monitoring and Control Server (LMCS).
Is it required to have both CIAM and LARA parallel operation at the beginning? What is the required testing phase?
Once installed, customised and trained you can decide to test until you feel comfortable enough to go into operations with LARA.
A LARA special client application (LARA Reservation Exporter) can be configured by the Housekeeper in order to feed automatically a RaMIT Client connected to a 2nd LARA Server, previously initalised by a migrated/backup of the 1st server.
Any user connect to the 2nd server could then have a "playground" which, by design, could not affect the 1st server, while replicating any action performed on it.
The LARA standard architecture is described within the LARA Technical Manual.
